The County requires development of the Shelter and Mass Care Annex into an operable plan for use in a designated disaster and is seeking a Contractor/Consultant to review and develop the Shelter and Mass Care Annex into an operable plan.
The County Government (County) is responsible for developing a plan for coordinating and providing mass care services to persons affected by a disaster. The requirements for services may vary depending upon the nature, type and level of the emergency. The County will work closely with volunteer organizations that provide shelter and mass care support to determine the availability of shelter and feeding facilities, encourage facility owners to sign agreements for use of those facilities and allow their personnel to participate in shelter management training.
The County developed a Shelter and Mass Care Annex to outline organizational arrangements, operational concepts, responsibilities and procedures to protect evacuees and others from the effects of an emergency situation by providing shelter and mass care. Additionally, the County developed a plan for a Special Medical Needs Shelter Appendix to identify individuals with special needs and provide possible solutions to fill the needs identified.
