Operation of Peer Assistance Program
The Board is seeking information
that may assist in the establishment of a Peer Assistance Program (Program).
Request for Information ("RFI") is issued solely to obtain information
to assist the Board in its planning process and data collection purpose.
The operation of a Peer Assistance Program for the Board will require
the professional association to identify impaired licensees and students
and assist those individuals whose ability to perform a professional service is
impaired by chemical dependency on drugs or alcohol or by mental illness. The
association will assist the impaired individuals by referring them to an evaluation,
and if necessary, further referral to a course of treatment or rehabilitation.
The association will monitor the referral.
