One of the New York State Department of Healths goals is to eliminate disparities in health care access by increasing the availability and quality of health care services for New Yorks underserved populations. The Department of Healths Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Health and Human Services initiative focuses on addressing disparities through building a wider, more sensitive and appropriate system to promote health and human services for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) individuals, families and communities.
