ON-SITE SURGICAL INSTRUMENT SHARPENING, REPAIR, AND PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE SERVICE
This is a Sources Sought Notice and not a solicitation announcement. The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to gain knowledge of qualified, potential contractors and their socio-economic size classification in accordance with NAICS code 339112, Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing. Responses will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After a review of the responses to this Sources Sought Notice, a solicitation announcement may be posted. A response to this Sources Sought Notice is not an adequate reply to a potentially forthcoming solicitation.
The Iowa City VA Health Care System (VAHCS) located at 601 Highway 6 West, Iowa City, Iowa 52246-2209 is seeking qualified potential contractors to provide On-Site Surgical Instrument Sharpening, Repair, and Preventative Maintenance Services.
The work will consist of providing surgical instrument inspection, ultrasonic cleaning and lubrication, and necessary repairs to include alignment, adjustment, sharpening, refinishing, pins, tungsten carbide inserts, laparoscopic shaft insulation, springs, and OEM manufactured parts and/or screw replacement. Surgical tools will include: General Instruments, Needle holder TC inserts replacement, micro instruments, orthopedic instruments, neuro instruments, endoscopic instruments, laparoscopic instruments, flexible biopsy forcep repair, vascular dental, complete tray and set refurbishing, cardiovascular instruments, OB-GYN instrument repairs, arthroscopic instrument repairs, pediatric instrument repairs, cysto and urology instrument repairs, diamond dusting, and podiatry, ENT, Ophthalmic. There are approximately 300-400 instrument sets to maintain. All repair parts to be used to conduct repairs on equipment shall be Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) replacements. Reports will be required and include photo documentation observations, repair activity, and recommendations for improvement.

The closing date and time of this sources sought notice is November 14, 2019 at 10:00 AM Central Time.
This is not a solicitation and in no way obligates the Government to award any contract. Additionally, a response to this Sources Sought Notice is not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of any forthcoming solicitation.
