Occupational Medical Service (OMS)
The primary intent of this requirement is to provide support designed to meet general and unique occupational medical needs of the biomedical research mission of the NIH. Briefly, this includes: pre-placement evaluations, enrollment into cohort medical programs based on risk, including immunizations; management of occupational injuries and illnesses; incident response and clinical care after hazard exposures, including those involving highly pathogenic organisms; assessment and triage of emergent personal illnesses; return-to-work evaluations; data management and analysis; and outreach to collaborate with OMS partners. In addition, the OMS contract supports the Employee Assistance Program, which offers assistance to employees with problems that adversely affect work performance or conduct.
