Synopsis:

THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION, INVITATION FOR BID (IFB), REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) OR A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP). THIS SOURCES SOUGHT IS FOR ACQUISITION PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AND SHALL NOT BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO ISSUE A SOLICITATION OR ULTIMATELY AWARD A CONTRACT. ANY COST INCURRED AS A RESULT OF THE ANNOUNCEMENT SHALL BE BORNE BY THE INTERESTED PARTY (PROSPECTIVE OFFEROR) AND WILL NOT BE CHARGED TO THE GOVERNMENT FOR REIMBURSEMENT. RESPONDENTS WILL NOT BE NOTIFIED OF THE RESULTS OF ANY GOVERNMENT ASSESSMENTS.


PURPOSE:


The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Nashville District is conducting this Sources Sought in support of Market Research to notify and seek potential qualified members of industry to gain knowledge of capabilities, interest, and qualification; to include the Small Business Community, for the purchase of two (2) generator step-up (GSU) power transformers. Responses to this Sources Sought Synopsis will be used by the government in making appropriate acquisition decisions. The type of solicitation to be issued will depend upon the responses to this sources sought synopsis. The Government must ensure there is adequate competition among the potential pool of responsive contractors. The type of set-aside decision to be issued will depend upon the responses to this sources sought. Only contractors capable of performing this type of work should respond to this Request for Information.


NO SOLICITATION EXISTS AT THIS TIME.



DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT:


This Market Research/Sources Sought Notice is for information on the availability and capability of potential Contractors to supply two (2) GSU power transformers. The principal components of the work to be performed include design, manufacture, factory test, and deliver to Old Hickory Power Plant in Hendersonville, TN; two, three-phase GSU power transformers, each rated 69 kV GrdY/13.2 kV Delta, 75,000/100,000 kVA, Class ONAN/ONAF cooling, with nitrogen blanket oil preservation systems. The work will also include offloading and movement of the transformers at the Old Hickory Power Plant, reassembly, and oil-filling, perform field tests and furnishing of spare parts. All work will be performed to comply with site operations, environmental protection, and safety and health provisions. The anticipated period of performance is be 12 to 14 months after date of award.

The anticipated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) is 335311, Power, Distribution, and Specialty Transformer Manufacturing with a small business size standard of 750 Employees.
