The project includes securely hosting a version of the OBMEP database and keeping it accessible with minimal downtime (i.e. 99.9% uptime) and running regular maintenance and backups on the database. The database must be accessible to individuals working inside other secure networks or directly over the Internet, and these individuals must be able to read and/or write data to the database. Therefore secure authentication services should be provided to those needing direct access to the database. The data system hardware should be physically secure (i.e. locked areas with controlled access, surveillance), and the data should also be secure (i.e. firewalls, secure backup).

In addition to direct access, a web application with pre-written queries or user-defined queries that call on the database will be developed to make key OBMEP data types available internally to CCT personnel and/or externally to other agencies and the public. The web application should be designed so that it may one day be accessible from OBMEP's existing website www.cctobmep.com, which is hosted by a third-party.

In addition to hosting services, the project requires development of customized applications for Windows 7 systems that will enable collection of multiple types of data that will synchronize with the OBMEP database and will develop other applications for QA/QCing data. Additionally, the project should integrate the OBMEP data system with other regional systems that meet BPA's data management strategies (i.e. the Coordinated Assessment Exchange).
