Nuclear Regional Maintenance Department(NRMD) point change
This is a Synopsis announcement in accordance with FAR 5.202 in anticipation of a future contract award. The requirement under this synopsis is for an increase to the ceiling for previously awarded contract No. N00024-13-C-4311. The Naval Sea Systems Command has a requirement to staff and operate a nuclear regional maintenance department (NRMD) at Naval Submarine base (SUBBASE), New London in support of returning mission ready submarines to the fleet. The scope of work under N00024-13-C-4311 includes overhaul, maintenance, repair and modification upgrades, technical and engineering support, and supplies and/or ancillary services uniquely manufactured by GDEB in support of maintaining nuclear powered submarines. The dynamics of submarine force operation requires a NRMD capable of meeting workload surges and shifting skill requirements on a daily basis. This requires a NRMD contractor to be a nuclear qualified shipyard and able to maintain a staff of nuclear qualified personnel in close proximity to SUBASE, New London.
