Notice of Open Enrollment for WIC-Eligible Canned Beans

The Program is issuing this Notice of Open Enrollment to request applications from manufacturers that can meet the criteria for WIC- eligible canned beans. Texas WIC is considering adding canned beans to the allowable foods list for the current fiscal year 2010 which ends September 30, 2010, and fiscal year 2011 (October 1, 2010 September 30, 2011). For purposes of this Open Enrollment, canned beans are considered WIC-eligible if they meet the regulations issued by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and meet the Texas WIC established criteria which include national brand, type of beans, container size, and cost.
