The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations Services Office (EMOSO), intends to award a sole source contract to Schneider Electric, 2979 Pacific Drive, Suite E, Norcross, Georgia 30071, for the provision and installation of switchgear breakers.

The statutory authority for this sole source acquisition is 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1) in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1- only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirement. The NAICS code for this procurement is 335313, Switchgear and Switchboard Apparatus Manufacturing.

This is a retrofit of existing switchgear cubicles to accept Schneider Electric Masterpact breakers with Micrologic trip units. The replacement breakers are proprietary, and Schneider Electric is the only source. In addition, these breakers are compatible with the other breakers and systems on the Chamblee campus.

As a result of this synopsis, no competitive solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps. We will issue only one solicitation to Chamblee Center. However, all responsible sources that believe they can meet these requirements may submit their capabilities/qualifications statement to provide these services to Mike Davis VIA EMAIL ONLY at VWL8@CDC.GOV with the solicitation number 08350 referenced in the subject line NO LATER THAN 5:00 PM on May 9th, 2017. The Contracting Officer will not respond to verbal requests. ALL REQUESTS MUST BE IN WRITING.

A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action will be based on responses to this notice and are solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
