CDC/NIOSH/Pittsburgh Mining Research Division (PMRD) / Ground Control Branch (GCB), intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Geokon, Inc., 48 Spencer St. Lebanon, NH 03766, for the following items and quantities:

5. 6.0        4350-3         VW Biaxial Stressmeter for BX size bore-hole w/ 6 radial    
                                    gages, 2 longitudinal & VW temp. gages
6. 1200ft   06-500V7-E   Orange PVC Cable, 0.500", 6 twisted pairs.


This is a direct replacement/upgrade for the current Geokor borehole stress sensor system that the PMRD/CGB currently has. A direct replacement is required in order to maintain consistency and compatibilities with previously collected research data.and newly collected data sets.


This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) SAP and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.


This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
