Norfolk VA - Materials Testing Service (FY10)
SCOPE OF SERVICES: Provide investigation, materials testing, geotechnical and other associated services. The anticipated work is expected to include, but not limited to, obtaining soil borings, compaction and density testing, CBRs, pavement cores, and various geotechnical materials testing, and the preparation of reports. The City will review all work completed for conformance with its standards. Project locations include, but are not limited to, areas within the City of Norfolk. Sites may also be located in Virginia Beach, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Isle of Wight County, Southampton County and other areas in Tidewater, Virginia.
ANTICIPATED PROCEDURE: From time to time during the contract period, the City will issue requests for services, which will state generally what work is to be performed. The consultant shall then provide the City a detailed confirmation which shall include: a description of each service to be performed; the cost for each service with unit prices, if appropriate; a projected maximum cost for all services to be provided; the work schedule. The City will reply to an acceptable confirmation with an order to proceed.
