THIS IS A SYNOPSIS OF PROPOSED CONTRACT ACTION. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION OR INVITATION FOR OFFERORS TO SUBMIT BIDS. THIS NOTICE WILL BE POSTED FOR A MINIMUM OF 15 DAYS PRIOR TO POSTING OF THE SOLICITATION.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) anticipates issuance of solicitation 15B40319B00000001 for the award of a firm-fixed-price construction contract to install New Vehicle and Pedestrian Gates at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Englewood.

FCI Englewood is located at 9595 W. Quincy Ave., Littleton, CO 80123.

The following brief synopsis should not be considered inclusive of work required to complete the project. All work described in specifications and all work necessary to complete the work as described or shown is to be executed in a thoroughly substantial and workmanlike manner. All work shall be done by persons who are thoroughly experienced in their particular trade or craft. The work includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following description: The contractor shall construct and install two vehicle gates which have a clear height of 14'9" and are 20' wide and two electronic pedestrian swing gates with a height of 7" and 4' wide. Each gate will require locking mechanisms. The contractor shall provide all materials, labor, tools and equipment to complete the installation.

The performance period for the project will be 137 calendar days from issuance of the notice to proceed.

Pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 36.204, the estimated magnitude of the project lies between $250,000 and $500,000. (NOTE: This range is one of 8 available ranges from FAR 36.204 and is not meant to imply that the project has necessarily been estimated/budgeted to the maximum of the selected range. It merely conveys that the estimate/budget lies somewhere within that range.)

The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code applicable to this requirement is 238990 with a corresponding small business size standard of $16.5 million.

The solicitation will be available approximately on or about October 2, 2019. The solicitation will be distributed solely through the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website at www.fbo.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be made available. The website provides download instructions.

Any secure/locked documents uploaded with the solicitation will require an active Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps.gov) vendor registration (log in) for access as well as your Marketing Partner Identification Number (MPIN) associated with your System for Award Management (SAM.gov) registration.
