Near- and Intermediate-term Strategic Plan
Cleveland and Bradley County, Tennessee is a growing community of about 90,000 people located along I-75 just northeast of Chattanooga. The population had been anticipated to reach about 140,000 by 2030. However, there has lately been a strong upsurge in anticipated industrial employment including the recently announced Volkswagen assembly plant. Taking full advantage of these opportunities will require strategic investment in public facilities and services that meet the needs of a more rapidly growing population and economy. The window of opportunity demands planning and strategic near-term (five-year) and intermediate-term (ten-year) investments in transportation projects and programs; other infrastructure, public facilities and services; and housing.
