The Council wishes to purchase bare root native plants for use in watershed enhancement projects. Interested nurseries must submit their quotes electronically to [email protected] by Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. Late quotes will not be accepted.
The Council plans to begin a tree-planting shade program in the Clackamas Basin to offset excess heat load on the lower river system. The shading program will seek to reestablish 30 miles of riparian forest along Clackamas River tributaries downstream from the River Mill Dam. Riparian planting will begin in January 2013 and extend through February 2018.
To complete this work the CRBC will require native bare root tree and shrub seedlings grown from locally collected seed. The CRBC may award more than one contract to qualifying nurseries to help maintain genetic diversity and cost competitiveness, and to reduce the risks associated with crop failure. Contract(s) will be for three years with an option for renewal. The full RFQ description and more information about the CRBC is available at www.clackamasriver.org.
