National Cemetery Administration Monument Assessment Projects
Heritage Preservation, under contract to the Department of Veterans Affairs, National Cemetery
Administration (NCA), is requesting proposals to assess historic monuments at NCA cemeteries. The
monuments outlined on the following pages have been identified in a national inventory as significant
military monuments in critical need of conservation and preservation.
We seek professional conservators or historic preservation architects with experience in cemetery and
gravestone preservation. They should meet the Secretary of the Interiors Proposed Historic Preservation Professional Qualification Standards for Conservation, or the Secretary of the Interiors Historic Preservation Professional Qualification Standards for Historic Preservation (attached).
