This is a request for quotes. The Department of Veterans Affairs, James J. Peters VA Medical Center is currently seeking Nanosight NanoSight NS300; an instrument to measure the size and concentration of exosomes
GENERAL INFORMATION
The instrument should have with high sensitivity camera and violot 405 nm laser module, computer and analytic software. The instrument must meet the following requirements: Quickly measure concentration and size range (10-2000nm) of small droplets called exosomes in a very small volume (0.3 ml) using light scattering techniques. Our purpose is to measure the concentration and size range of exosomes in solution in biological samples. Exosomes are very small droplets produced by cells and tissues that communicate information from one cell to another. The desired instrument must use light scatter rather than western blotting, ELISA, or electron microscopy, which lack the ability to determine concentration and size range quickly. We need to purchase this instrument because we are presently investigating the ability of muscle tissue and bone cells to produce exosomes and are investigating the role of exosomes in transmitting molecular signals between different types of cells in muscle and bone. For these studies we need precise measurements of the number of exosomes in our preparations to optimally perform experiments.
The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) is 334516.
