THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE, AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITVE PROPOSALS. A SOLICITATION DOCUMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND PROPOSALS WILL NOT BE REQUESTED. The U.S Fish and Wildlife Service, Contracting and General Services, Region 7 in Anchorage, Alaska intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price contract award on a non-competitive basis in accordance with FAR 13 for curatorial services for archaeological collections in Alaska for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Region 7, To UNIVERSITY OF ALASKA FAIRBANKS, DUNS: 615245164, 3295 College Rd, Fairbanks, AK, 99709-3705 ,The NAICS code for this acquisition is 92190 Other general government support with a size standard of NA.
The Government intends to solicit and negotiate directly with The University of Alaska Museum of the North. Curatorial regulations, 36 CFR 79.6(b), requires when possible that federal-owned museum collections are to be housed in the State of origin and in a facility which maintains other collections from the same sites or geographical area. Curation is a long-term process. Museums house materials in perpetuity for the long-term education and benefit of the public. FWS R7 collections included in the requested contract are already stored at UAMN. This effort is for services associated with acquisition, inventory, processing, and storage of the FWS R7 collection already held at UAMN. UAMN is the only facility meeting the above requirements that also accepts human remains (also a part of the collection)
No other solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, if any interested party believes they can meet the above requirement, it may submit a statement of capabilities. The statement of capabilities must be submitted in writing and must contain material in sufficient detail to allow the government to determine if the party can perform the requirement
This Notice of Intent is not a request for proposals. Information received from interested parties will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses may be submitted by E-mail to randall_miller@fws.gov.
