Pursuant to 38 U.S.C 8127(b), the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 16 (NCO 16) 2002 Holcombe Boulevard (90C) Houston, TX 77030 intends to negotiate a sole source award for the procurement of Stealthstation ENT Cart Kit Product Number 9735669TIKIT1 with Veterans Healthcare Supply Solutions 13949 Alvarez Road, Suite 300 Jacksonville, FL 32218.

The Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center )MEDVAMC) currently utilizes Medtronic probes, Medtronic suctions, and Medtronic head tracker kits in the neurosurgery operations room. A Medtronic Navigation Stealth system is required for compatibility with existing Medtronic instruments. Brand name Medtronic is the only Navigation Stealth System that can work with existing instrumentation. A Medtronic stealthstation is required due to an increased volume of neurosurgery requirements. In order to maintain Medical Instrument Standardization within the MEDVAMC and assure patient safety, exact instrumentation is required. The Government contemplates awarding a Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order. The intended procurement will be classified under North America Industry Classification System (NAICS) 339113.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
