OVERVIEW FOR NATIONAL CENTER ON HOMELESSNESS AMONG VETERANS
SUPPORTIVE SERVICES FOR VETERANS FAMILIES
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) National Center on Homelessness Among Veterans (heretofore referred to as the National Center) is seeking a Contractor to provide event planning and management services to support the National Center Supportive Services for Veterans Families Program (SSVF) Grant Review and Grantee Training Conferences (NAICS 54163). The SSVF will organize three to four conferences each year. The conferences will be to support all aspects of the SSVF grant review process that includes but is not limited to yearly educations, training and technical support for the SSVF grant review and the SSVF Post- Award conferences for fiscal years 2014 (contingent upon FY14 award), 2015, and 2016. The attendees will consist of VA and non-VA participants. The number of attendees will vary.
The SSVF program's purpose is to provide supportive services grants to private non-profit organizations and consumer cooperatives to coordinate or provide supportive services to very low income Veteran families. Two critical foci of SSVF include: A) the provision of homelessness prevention assistance to assist those at imminent risk for homelessness to maintain their housing, and B) the provision of rapid re-housing assistance for those who are homeless or exiting temporary or transitional housing to quickly reconnect to permanent housing. Within SSVF, service provision is designed to be flexible and tailored to meet the immediate needs of the Veteran and his or her family members; regardless, services must include case management.
Please note that this procurement is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Set-Aside. In addition, this procurement is intended only for those vendors with current GS/FSS contracts.
The initial base contract period of performance is estimated to begin 1 August 2014 and run through 30 July 2015, with provisions for two additional one-year option periods that may be exercised at the Government's discretion.
