Mode 5 Interrogator Components
The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division intends to negotiate a Firm Fixed Price, 3-Year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Contract with BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems (IESI) on a Sole Source Basis. The Delivery Orders placed under the IDIQ will be at the component or system level, and will include AN/UPX-37, AN/UPX-41(C), AN/UPX-42(C), and AN/UPX-45(C) Digital Interrogator Sets or components. Included in the IDIQ will be entire systems, and system specific components which support , including RT-1912(C)/APX-123 Transponder, C-12720/APX-123 Transponder, DVP Defruiter CCA, Coder Timing CCA, Power Supply Assembly, Transmitter Module, RF I/O Modules, Mode 5 CCA, Mode 5 Processor Assemblies, and Data Entry Unit.
THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS AND NO COMPETITIVE SOLICITATION WILL BE ISSUED. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of Title 10, U.S.C. Section 2304(c) (1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." A determination by the Government not to compete this effort is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will consider all responses received within 15 days after the publication of the this notice.
GENERAL INFORMATION: BAE IESI is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the current AN/UPX-37, AN/UPX-41(C), AN/UPX-42(C), and AN/UPX-45(C) Digital Interrogator Sets, and is the only known qualified, responsible source that possesses the necessary knowledge, experience, and technical data required to fulfill the requirements specified AN/UPX-37, AN/UPX-41(C), AN/UPX-42(C), and AN/UPX-45(C) Digital Interrogator Sets.
