Moccasin Bend Riverbank Protection
This is a Solicitation Notice for construction to place approximately 1,404 tons of riprap and aggregate, and approximately 1,422 square yards of geotextile fabric for bank stabilization on the Tennessee River adjacent to Moccasin Bend National Archaeological District in Chattanooga, TN. The placement is to be accomplished from the river. Peripheral tasks include very limited excavation, clearing and grubbing involving an estimated 334 cubic yards of excavated material. All the work under this contract are described within the drawings and technical specifications provided. This procurement falls under NAICS code 237990 (Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction).
PRE-BID SITE VISIT: Offerors should inspect the job site prior to submitting a bid. Offerors should take such other steps as may be reasonably necessary to ascertain the nature and location of the work and the general and local conditions that can affect the work or the cost thereof. Failure to do so will not relieve offerors from the responsibility for properly estimating the difficulty or cost of successfully performing the work. The Government assumes no responsibility for any understanding or representations concerning conditions made by any of its officers, agents or employees, unless included in the solicitation, the specifications or related documents.

Starting from Brown's Ferry Federal Road Hiking Area, Moccasin Bend Rd, Chattanooga, TN 37405.

This will be the only guided site visit for this project. If you miss the scheduled site visit, no other arrangements will be made due to personnel and time restrictions.
