Wilmington Harbor Mid-River and Military Ocean Terminal, Sunny Point Dredging
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District requires a contract to perform maintenance dredging in and near Wilmington Harbor Mid-River and near the Military Ocean Terminal, Sunny Point, North Carolina.

The work consists of maintenance dredging of various Wilmington Harbor channel reaches between Wilmington and Southport, North Carolina. The maintenance dredging will require removal and disposal of shoaled material that has accumulated in the channels since they were last dredged. Dredging depth is 42' plus 2' of allowable overdepth. Dredging by hopper dredge, hydraulic cutter suction dredge, and mechanical dredge (clamshell, dragline or dipper) will be allowed for this work. The environmental window for hopper dredging is 1 December to 31 January from Reaves Point Channel to Upper Lilliput Channel and 1 August to 31 January from Upper Lilliput Channel to Wilmington. The environmental window for dredging by hydraulic cutter suction dredge is 1 August to 31 January. There is no environmental window for dredging by mechanical dredge (clamshell, dragline or dipper). The Government furnished disposal area is the Wilmington Harbor Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site.
Military Ocean Terminal, Sunny Point, Brunswick County, North Carolina.
The work will consist of removal and disposal of shoaled material that has accumulated in the basins and channels since they were last dredged. Dredging of the channels and basins shall be performed by mechanical dredge (clamshell, dragline or dipper). Dredging depths are 34 feet plus 2 feet of allowable overdepth and 38 feet plus 2 feet of allowable overdepth. Disposal of dredged material shall be in the Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site (ODMDS). The environmental window for the dredging of the basins and channels by mechanical dredge is 1 October to 30 June.
The contract issued will be Firm Fixed Price.
The Magnitude of Construction of this project is between $10,000,000 and $20,000,000.00.
