Metro Ethernet Network Services
The Gwinnett County Public Library ("Library") requests proposals for metro Ethernet network services. Gwinnett County Public Library (GCPL), has 14 locations throughout Gwinnett county. GCPL is in the process of a network re-design effort that has been underway for the past several months. The primary goal is to replace the existing traditional Frame Relay network to improve intercampus and headquarters communications. The secondary goal is to take advantage of newer more cost effective technologies which both improve performance and simplify operations.
The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit Metro Ethernet services from the most qualified and reputable data communications service providers. Since GCPL will apply for funding through the Federal Universal Service Fund, also known as the E-Rate program, it will procure all eligible services under the established guidelines of this federal program. Therefore, vendors participating in this RFP must familiarize themselves with the terms and conditions of the E-Rate program, especially as it relates to the acquisition process.
