Market Survey for US Army Research Development and Engineering Command-
Metal Supplier


The US Army Contracting Command - New Jersey (ACC-NJ), Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey 07806-5000 is conducting a Market Survey on behalf of U.S Army Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC) for support to encompass a broad range of materials, metallic and nonmetallic to fabricate hardware for prototype designs and Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) quantities.


The ARDEC is seeking vendors and suppliers of metallic and nonmetallic materials described in Group 53 of the Federal Supply Codes (FSC). The ARDEC is seeking a wide range of metallic and nonmetallic materials to support Picatinny Arsenal R&D developmental projects, production programs and theatre requirements. Offerors will be required to supply a number of components to include, but not limited to, one or more of the following Group 95, Metal Bars, Sheets, and Shapes Federal Supply Codes (FSC):


• Steel Plate per ASTM-A36A36M, ASTM-A572/A572M, ASTM-A588/A588M (FSC 9515
• Armor Plate per MIL-A-12560H, MIL-A-46100D (FSC 9515)
• Mild Steel Structural Shapes per ASTM-A36/A36M, ASTM-A500/A500M (FSC 9510)
• Aluminum Sheet/Plate per MIL-A-46027 (FSC 9515)
• Aluminum Bar (alloys include 6061, 7075, 5086, 2024) per ASTM-B211 (FSC 9510)
• Aluminum Tube and Pipe (alloys include 6061, 6063) per ASTM-B210, ASTM-B211 (FSC 9510)
• B241 Mild and alloy steel tubing/pipe per ASTM-A513/A513M, ASTM-A106/A106M (FSC 9510)
• Stainless Steel Sheet/Plate per ASTM A666, ASTM-A240/A240M FSC 9515)
• Stainless Steel Bar (alloys include 303, 304, 316, 17-4PH, 416) per ASTM-A582/A582M, ASTM-A276, ASTM-A564, AMS 5643 (Latest Rev is "T") AMS 5604 (Latest Rev is "G"), ASTM-A693 (FSC 9510)
• Carbon Steel bar (alloys include 12L14, 1018, 1024, 1045, 4140, 4130, 4340) per ASTM-A108, AMS6415 (Latest Rev is "T") AMS 6359 (Latest Rev is "J") (FSC 9510)
• Maraging Steels per AMS-6512 (Latest Rev is "G"), AMS 6514 (Latest Rev is "H") MIL-S-46850D (FSC 9515)
• Titanium Alloys (including CP-1, CP-2, CP-3, CP-4, 6A1-4V) per AMS 4921 (Latest Rev is "M") ASTM-B348, AMS 4928 (Latest Rev is "U") (FSC 9515)
• Copper/Brass rod (alloys include 110, 145, 314, 360) per ASTM B187/B187M, ASTM B16/B16M (FSC 9510)
• Copper/Brass plate (alloys include 100, 145, 314, 360) per ASTM B152/B152M, B36, B36M (FSC 9515)


This effort is limited to the UNCLASSIFIED level.


Vendor Questionnaire: The purpose of this questionnaire is to obtain information from industry to assist in the market research. Firms/companies are invited to indicate their interest and capability to satisfy the above requirements by identifying the following items:


1. Company Name
2. Company Address / Country Represented / Website
3. Company point of contact and phone number
4. Business Size (Small/Large & Number of Employees) CAGE Code / DUNS Number.
5. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 332722.
6. Commerciality: (a.) Our product as described above, has been sold, leased or licensed to the general public (b.) Our product as described above, has been sold in substantial quantities, on a competitive basis, to multiple state and local governments. The development of the product was done exclusively at private expense. (c) None of the above applies. Explain.
7. Location where primary work will be performed (if more than one location, please indicate the percentage for each location).
8. Major partners or suppliers.
9. Identify existing facilities, equipment and workforce (identify what percentage would be supporting this new effort and what additional resources would be required).
10. Provide minimum and maximum monthly production rates of past production of same or similar items.
11. Identify manufacturing, managing and engineering experience of like systems of equal or greater complexity.
12. Identify lead time, including supplier/design qualification efforts and production ramp up time, to meet full capability for production and sustainment.
13. Please provide any additional comments.

This is a sources sought notice only and should not be construed as a Request for Proposal or a commitment by the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market survey. Offerors are directed to NOT submit proposals at this time. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published and more detailed technical requirements will be provided. The Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey.
