Mesh Wi-Fi Network for Law Enforcement System
The City of McAllen, hereinafter referred to as the City, is seeking proposals from qualified
firms to provide, install, and configure a MESH WI-FI NETWORK FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT
SYSTEM that will serve the needs of the City. With this proposal, the City of McAllen is to provide 3 locations to allow for the expansion of its
network infrastructure to City employees thus giving City employees access to Information
Technology resources. The primary application that will have access to the Wi-Fi network is
the Video Surveillance system that is planned for installation in the summer of 2009. Private citizen usage is to be implemented on the network as a secondary objective subsequent to the
success of the implementation of the wireless network for city use.
