Medical Support and Athletic Training Services
Provide Medical Support and Athletic Training Services to include, but not be limited to the
following:
A. One certified athletic trainer assigned to each of the ten (10) High Schools for all sports
seasons beginning on or around August 1st of each year and continuing throughout the
academic school year or until the final contest, whichever is later. Additionally,
provide a certified athletic trainer assigned to Community High School for sports in which
they participate in athletics, which may vary each year.
B. Athletic trainer services should be provided from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays,
however, trainer coverage times should be flexible to accommodate morning and
afternoon practice times as required and evening athletic contests.
C. Physician coverage at all home varsity football games and mutually agreed upon special
events. (examples of special events may include tournaments, post regular season
games)
D. Provide on-school site physicals for student athletes as scheduled by the individual high
schools not to exceed three times per school year per individual school.
E. Access to sports medicine clinics on Saturdays during football season and periodically
throughout all sports seasons as requested.
F. 24-hour dedicated hotline for coaching staff, school staff, student-athletes and parents
who may have questions pertaining to sports related issues.
G. Physicians, trainers, and physical therapists available to participate as speakers in any
seminar or program set up between the School and the provider. This is normally done at the
beginning of football season and also may include career day events at each school.
H. Annually provide athletic injury prevention seminar for Physical Education Teachers
and coaches as requested.
I. Coordination and ordering of necessary athletic training supplies for each high schools
athletic training facility.
