Western proposes to replace old and worn spacer dampers along approximately 278 miles of the Mead-Phoenix 500kV DC constructed operating at AC voltage transmission line. The contractor will be required to deliver the new spacers by truck and installed by helicopter. Once the old spacers are changed they will be flown to a pickup area before being sent to a recycling center. The majority of the work will be above ground with minimal support from vehicles and crews on the ground. See the attached Sources Sought Document for more specific information.
