Mathematics/Science Partnership (MSP) program is intended to increase the academic achievement of students in math and/or science in grades kindergarten through 12 (K"12) by enhancing the content knowledge and teaching skills of classroom teachers through professional learning activities. These professional learning activities should include the development of tools/strategies that are documented and can be accessed by all Delaware teachers. As overall student achievement rises, the achievement gap in mathematics performance of diverse student populations is expected to be significantly reduced. Partnerships between high-need schools or school districts and the mathematics, science, engineering, or technology faculty in institutions of higher education (IHEs) are at the core of these improvement efforts. Other partners may include other public schools, businesses, and nonprofit or for-profit organizations concerned with mathematics education.
