Sources Sought for Commercial Item Purchase

THIS SOURCES SOUGHT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL
This notice is a market research tool being used to determine potential and eligible business firms that can provide the products described herein prior to determining the method of acquisition.
The Veteran Administration (VA) Denver Logistics Center (DALC) seeks information on vendors that can supply the following commercial items: warehouse handler s services, and cardboard boxes. This announcement is not a Request for Quotes (RFQ) and does not commit the Government to award a contract now or in the future. No solicitation is available at this time. Additionally, the Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources because of this notice.
The results of this Sources Sought notice will be utilized to determine if any Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business/Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB/VOSB) opportunities exist. However, this market research tool is also being used to identify potential and eligible firms, of all sizes, prior to determining the method of acquisition and issuance of a solicitation. This requirement is assigned a NAICS code of 493110, Warehouse & Storage, General Warehousing & Storage. All Small Business, Socioeconomic contracting programs including 8(a), HUBZone, and WOSB will be considered.
Because of this Sources Sought notice, the VA DALC may conduct a competitive procurement and subsequently award a contract. Your responses to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method, including whether a set-aside is possible.
A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. To receive an award, contractors must have valid registration and certification in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and the Online Representations and Certifications Applications (ORCA), through Sam.gov.
Interested business organizations that believe they can meet the requirement should submit electronic copies of their capability statements. Please limit responses to five (5) pages or less. Responses should include the following information:
1. Name of company that will provide service and/or product.

2. Name of company that will manufacture the product.

3. Spec sheets and examples of products that meet the specifications, if applicable.

4. Typical lead time to deliver the product after receipt of an order.

5. Any other relevant information that is not listed above which the Government should consider in finalizing its market research.

BACKGROUND
The Veteran Administration Denver Logistics Center manages holistic supply chain management for the VA National Audiology, Prosthetics, and Telehealth Programs and supports the VA and other Government agencies with professional acquisition and logistical services.B
Commodities managed include worldwide distribution of hearing aids,B hearing aid accessories, cochlear implants, assistive devices,B batteries,B prosthetic socks, orthotic soft goods, aids for the visually impaired, and telehealth messaging hubs and peripherals.
The VA DLC has a recurring need for the following commercial items: cardboard boxes in different sizes, as well as Material Handler s services. This requirement is necessary to ensure that the VA DLC achieves the agency s core mission of caring for our nations Veterans. These services and products are essential to the Government s requirements.
Purpose:
The Material Handler s Services and different sized boxes are critical to the efficient running of our warehouse.
Technical Specifications:
Any proprietary information should be so marked. The written/emailed capability statement should be received by the Contract Specialist no later than 500PM MST 31 August 2018. The capability statement shall identify the business status of the organization.
