Massage Therapy Foundation Invites Submissions for Practitioner Case Report Contest
The Massage Therapy Foundation is inviting submissions for its 2014 Practitioner Case Report Contest, an annual opportunity for massage therapists and body workers to develop research skills and enhance their ability to provide knowledge-based massage to the public.
Practitioners must report on an independent clinical intervention on one client. Submissions must include a review of the literature on the presenting condition; a discussion of the creation and implementation of a treatment plan in accordance with the literature, the needs of the client, and the practitioner's expertise; and a discussion of the implications of the outcomes, including suggestions for future study.
Cash prizes of up to $2,500 each will be awarded for the top reports. Winners will be invited to present their papers at the 2014 AMTA National Convention and will receive up to $1,000 to cover travel and accommodation expenses. In addition, continuing education credit is available through the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork for submitted reports that adhere to all requirements.
