The Department is inviting vendors to submit pricing for a Mass Fatality Preparedness and Training contract, and to receive an award of a professional services will-call contract. Both of the awards issued as a result of this solicitation will be issued to the same vendor as this solicitation shall be considered an all or none solicitation. Offers by vendors must be firm for a minimum of 30 calendar days following the bid opening.

The Plan ensures that if a natural or manmade disaster results in deaths that overwhelm the local coroner, hospital, and/or funeral home, the remains and associated families are provided appropriate mortuary services. This plan outlines how the Department would deal with the recovery, processing, identification, storage and repatriation of human remains and the associated personal effects in the event of a disaster that resulted in mass fatalities. The Department is required by the Assistant Secretary of Preparedness and Emergency Response (ASPR) Hospital Preparedness grant to have a functional mass fatality plan.
The Department requires that successful vendor to review and update the Plan to comply with the requirements set for by ASPR, and to submit quarterly reports to the Department on all activities associated with the update.
