Background:

The California Walnut Commission, headquartered in Folsom, California, has conducted marketing activities on behalf of the California Walnut Industry in various export markets since 1986. Current and potential markets are assessed on a regular basis to determine long term viability.

Scope of the Project:

This RFP is for market research only to be completed by mid-March 2015. This project requires working knowledge of the Polish market and cultural sensitivity to the business environment.

Timing of the Project:

Two hard copies of the proposal must be received in the Folsom office no later than Monday, December 15th, 2014.

The CWC will make an initial selection no later than Monday, December 29, 2014.

Leading candidates may be interviewed in our offices at their own expense. A final decision will be made no later than Friday, January 9, 2015.

Two (2) hard copies, in English, must be received by Monday, December 15th, 2014. All companies submitting proposals will be notified in writing of selection results. Overview of the market
Information showing the fulfillment of the selection criteria listed below

Bid Formulation:

In formulating your bids, please account for cost of the following:

Survey of Trade Sector (importers, distributors, users by sector - retail, industrial, etc.).

-Type of survey to be conducted (online, face to face, etc.)
-Sample Size (number of candidates to be interviewed)
-Survey Design

Survey of Consumers
-Type of survey to be conducted (online, face to face, etc.)
-Sample Size (number of candidates to be interviewed)
-Survey Design

Tabulation and analysis of data.

Preparation of reports to the CWC. (Two bound hard copies of each.)

Additional data that is pertinent to the project.


Selection Criteria
Please keep the following criteria in mind when drafting your proposals:

1.Experience in developing and implementing trade research in Poland. (25%)

2.Knowledge of the market. (25%)

3.Quality of sample design (feasibility of recommendations). (10%)

4.Research project samples. (10%)

5.Completeness and thoroughness of proposal. (10%)

6.Language capabilities in foreign languages and English. (10%)

7.Itemized Costs. (5%)

8.Experience with U.S. Commodity and/or USDA Foreign Agriculture Service Programs (i.e. MAP, EMP, FMD) (5%).
