The Council invites qualified firms or teams to provide consulting services to assess and provide mitigation strategies for maritime traffic and military activities along the River and Harbor, in implementation of the Joint Land Use Study from 2008.
The Council will begin implementing strategies of the JLUS implementation study in early 2013. This will include developing a comprehensive approach to regulating appropriate development. Increased maritime traffic in future years will have a direct impact and military activities will also impact maritime traffic during potential closures of the River and Harbor. A water management and vessel notification plan with strategies and recommendations will be the final product of this study.
