The intent of the DDC is to investigate and develop concepts and test model alternatives that will enable the DDC to meet future global distribution needs leading to long-term national security needs. The overall objective is to produce the architecture and a detailed plan of action and milestones (POAM) for a next-generation distribution network that is an integrated system-of-systems, facilitates end-to-end management among supply-chain professionals, provides end-to-end visibility for customers, and is flexible enough to reduce Customer Wait Times at progressively lower costs.
