The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity on behalf of the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) is conducting market research to determine availability of companies who can provide preventive maintenance and unlimited emergency repair service visits to ensure the performance of the X-Ray Diffractometer ECN Q8654, Serial Number 2417, including one each Computer Processing Unit ECN Q8655, Serial Number 1297344, one each Diffract meter relay ECN Q8657, Serial Number W1101361, and One each Diffract meter Chiller ECN Q8658, Serial Number HA 13629 as defined in this PWS at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR), Building 503, Room 2S12. This will be the final year of support required as the useful life of the equipment will be reached by the end of the contract.


 Additional Minimum Essential Characteristics (MECS) are provided below.


The X-Ray Diffractometer's functionality shall enable:


   Phase identification

•·         Quantitative analysis

•·         Crystal structure determination

•·         PDF analysis (total scattering)

•·         Small angle X-Ray scattering

•·         X-Ray reflectometry

•·         High resolution X-Ray diffraction

•·         Reciprocal space mapping

•·         Residual stress

•·         Texture (pole figures)


 THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS ONLY.  THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME.  PROPOSALS ARE NOT REQUIRED AT THIS TIME AND WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.  Any information submitted is voluntary.  The Government will not pay for any information that is submitted in response to this sources sought synopsis.  Respondents having proven capability of satisfying the requirements stated herein should provide a narrative identifying business size (large business, small business, and small disadvantaged business, etc.), applicable designators (service-disabled veteran-owned, HUBZone, woman-owned, etc.), experience performing the same or similar services and General Services Administration/Federal Supply Schedule information, if applicable.  All responses must be received  Monday,  6 May 2019.   TELEPHONE INQUIRIES SHALL NOT BE ACCEPTED.  Narratives should be e-mailed to Nathaniel Reus at nathaniel.a.reus.civ@mail.mil
