Maintenance and Repair of Bar Code Medicine Administration Carts in VISN 7
Professional Preventive Maintenance and repair of Barcode Medical Carts throughout VISN7.
VISN 7 has a total of 672 Howard Medical Carts used for delivering Medicine in conjunction with the Bar Code Medication Administration System (BCMA). The carts are an essential part of medical care delivery to the Veteran. It is critical that the carts are functional at all times and that adequate processes are in place to provide repair to malfunctioning carts as well as preventive maintenance to extend the life cycle of the carts.
The majority of the parts used on the Howard Medical Carts throughout the facilities are proprietary to Howard Medical, and Howard Medical does not make spare parts available or authorize third party vendors to service their BCMA Carts. Therefore, it is anticipated that this will be a sole source procurement from Howard Industries, Inc.
Contractor shall perform tasks directly related to the routine maintenance, repair and parts for BCMA carts not covered under warranty.
The period of performance is one year from issuance of the contract, with four one year option periods anticipated.
