Maintenance Dredging - MHC Inner Harbor

The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, Wilmington District requires a contract to provide maintenance dredging of the Morehead City Harbor federal navigation channel reaches including Range C, East Leg, West Leg, Northwest Leg, North Carolina State Ports Authority berth areas, and Aviation Fuel and Barge Docks. The work will consist of removal and disposal of shoaled material that has accumulated in the channels and berth areas since the various areas were last dredged. The work will require a hydraulic cutter suction dredge. Dredging depths range from 12' plus 2' of allowable overdepth to 45' plus 2' of allowable overdepth. The estimated quantity of material to be dredged is 750,000 cubic yards. The Government furnished disposal area for dredged material is the Brandt Island upland diked disposal area. The environmental window for dredging the North Carolina State Ports Authority berth areas, and Aviation Fuel and Barge Docks is 1 October to 31 March. There is no environmental window for dredging  Range C, East Leg, West Leg, and Northwest Leg.

The contract issued will be Firm Fixed Price.


The Magnitude of Construction of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. This solicitation will be issued in electronic format only and will be on or around 7 October 2019. The bid opening date will be specified in the solicitation when it is issued. No additional media (CD-ROM, floppy disks, faxes, etc) will be provided. Paper copies of this solicitation will not be available. Other methods of requesting a package will not be honored. This solicitation is a 100% Small Businesses Set Aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 237990- Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction and the size standard is $30,000,000.00.
