Main Library Concept Study
City of is soliciting proposals from interested and qualified library consultants:
To prepare a building concept describing services appropriate for a main library. To estimate necessary size of spaces and cost of a building housing such services, and
To evaluate up to four possible sites for building or building re-use. "Study" is the key concept for this project.
A new main library has been included in the City Improvements Plan for several years. However, no firm time frame or plan is in place for construction of such a building, and many critical decisions will need to be made before this would happen.
Events in the City such as the building of a new arena have created a climate where it is critical that the Board commission a study that addresses the possible availability of the Center as a site for a new main library.
This Study is in the spirit of gathering relevant information.
