STATEMENT OF WORK
1. Objective/Requirements
We need an Electromechanical Universal Test System to test material coupons and structures under various loading conditions (tension, compression, bending, etc).
2. Characteristics, Scope, and Specs
NASA LaRC desires to purchase equipment and software from MTS Systems Corporation to add to our current family of Universal Test Machine Systems previously purchased from MTS Systems Corp., and to be fitted to our recently purchased and custom-built thermal chamber.
Items to be purchased are as follows:
- MTS Model C43.504 Load Frame in a tabletop configuration with a force capacity of 50 kN (11 kip), max speed of 730 in/min, vertical test space of 47.2 in., distance between columns of 16.5 min, voltage of 200-230V AC, and with an integrated control pod.
- MTS Model LPS.504 load cell of 50 kN (11 kip) load capacity.
- MTS Advantage wedge grips (Model AWG504) with a max. static force capacity of 50 kN (11 kip).
- Spanner wrench, adjustable, 0.25 in pin, 2-4.75 in.
- MTS Advantage Grip Wedges; wedge type: flat, wedge surface: serrated steel. With a max. static force capacity of 50 kN (11 kip) for specimen range widths of 0-0.0312 in.
- MTS Advantage Grip Wedges; wedge type: flat, wedge surface: serrated steel. With a max. static force capacity of 50 kN (11 kip) for specimen range widths of 0.236-0.52 in.
- MTS TestSuite TW Elite Software.
- On-site calibration. To include travel expenses for MTS representative.
- On-site install & Commissioning.
- On-site Basic Operator Training.
Purchase of these items from MTS Systems Corp. comes to $47,460 as quoted (Quote #1) for this procurement.
