This is a pre-solicitation synopsis. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) Medium Altitude UAS Division UAS Division intends to award a contract on a sole source basis to General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. for the development of new technology and capabilities for the Block 5 MQ-9 weapon system. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. is the sole designer, developer and manufacturer of the MQ-9 Reaper system and has been identified as the only firm that possesses the necessary knowledge, experience and technical data required to perform this effort. The Government does not own full data rights for the system; therefore to avoid duplication costs, the Government intends to award the effort pursuant to the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1.


For subcontracting opportunities, interested parties may submit appropriate information to the Small Business Liason at General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. via email to GA-ASI-Small-Business@ga-asi.com. The National American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 336411. Please indicate number of employees relative to the size standard of 1,500 for determination of small business status. Respondees shall include their assigned DUNS number and their Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) code.
