1.  NOTICE:  This is not a solicitation but rather a Sources Sought Synopsis to determine potential sources for information and planning purposes only.

 

The information provided is for the Air Force's market research and is given understanding the AF has no obligation to pay for the information.  The information may be used in developing a request for proposals (RFP) but does not obligate the AF to issue an RFP or contract.  Any proprietary information submitted may be used as a general concept but specific information will be safeguarded as proprietary, if so marked.


 


1.1  The purpose of this Sources Sought is to conduct market research to determine if responsible sources exist, to assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or a total Small Business Set-Aside.  The proposed North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 332813 which has a corresponding Size standard of 500 employees.  The Government will use this information to determine the best acquisition strategy for this procurement.  The Government is interested in all small businesses to include 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Hubzone, and Women-Owned small business concerns.  The government requests that interested parties respond to this notice if applicable and identify your small business status to the identified NAICS code.  Additionally, please provide any anticipated teaming arrangements, along with a description of similar services offered to the Government and to commercial customers for the past three years.  Any responses involving teaming agreements should delineate between the work that will be accomplished by the prime and the work accomplished by the teaming partners.


2.  Program Details:


The purpose of this project is to provide required personnel, equipment, parts, tools, materials, supervision and services necessary to provide plating services to include stripping existing coating and preparing the part prior to accomplishing the plating of  various parts for the duration of the PDM for the MM III ICBM. These non-personal services will be performed at the Contractor's facility.  Performed services are in support of the 309th Missiles Maintenance Group (309 MMXG),  at Hill Air Force Base (HAFB), Utah. The results and capability responses to this announcement will help guide us to the most appropriate contract vehicle.

3. Response

             3.1 Responses should address the following questions:

1.  Does your facility have the capability to meet all size and weight requirements of parts listed in Appendix B?

2. If not, what parts in Appendix B are you able to cadmium plate?

3. Section 2.1 of the Draft Performance Work Statement (PWS) requires 10 day turnaround time of parts, are you able to meet this timeline?

4. If not, what is the minimum turnaround time needed to complete cadmium plating?

5. Do you have any suggestions for improvements on the PWS?

6. Do you have the capability to perform all requirements of the technical drawings or sub contract the portions you are not able to do, including all inspections?

3.2 The response should also include the following business information in addition to the capability statements and responses to questions above:

1) Sources Sought Number

2) DUNS Number

3) Company Name

4) Company Address

5) Company Points of Contact, Phone, FAX, and Email Address. POC's should include individual(s) who is(are) duly authorized in managing any/all technical issues and/or questions, and individual(s) who is(are) authorized in managing any/all contractual issues and/or questions.

6) Type of Company (i.e. small business, large business, educational institution, etc.)


The final date to submit responses for this Sources Sought is 21 April 2017.
