The Government will not pay for any information received in response to this Sources Sought, nor will the Government compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing the information provided to the Government. The purpose of this Sources Sought is to conduct Market Research to determine an acquisition strategy for the acquisition of HCTS2000, MK2 Sorter: Including: 1st Year Service Agreement Installation of Automation at Customer Site User Training on Automation During Installation at Customer Site. PALMS Phlebotomy requires new laboratory sample accessioning sorter. The laboratory receives approximately 50,000-7,0000 patient samples a month from community based outreach clinics. The laboratory must have a system to track specimens and sort them be accession area. This task requires automation do high volume.

The equipment shall at a minimum;
1. Shall be no larger than 5 x 4 x 3
2. Must be able to integrate with VA specimen tracking database (Sequel).
3. Shall have ability to sort 1500 tubes per hour.
4. Shall have at least 7 bins
5. End user ability to set bin criteria
(The ability to assign a bin a specific criteria. As it reads the barcode on the specimen, we shall have the ability to specify what bin to place that specimen.)
6. Shall read 2D barcode up to at least 10-digit
7. Shall sort all common cylindrical tubes typically used in clinical labs.
11mm to 19 mm in diameter and 75mm to 120 mm in length, 99 % specimen containers will fall in this range.
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 10, is conducting market research to determine if there are a sufficient number of Small Businesses capable of performing the requirements to warrant a set-aside. The proposed solicitation will be to furnish all materials, labor, equipment and transportation required to provide 1 EAHCTS2000, MK2 Sorter for Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center. Contractor shall also comply with any other federal, state, and local laws applicable to the industry.
Potential sources shall demonstrate experience and knowledge of requirement and capability to provide such commodities. Potential sources should submit:
business name and address;
point of contact;
business size, and any applicable business socio-economic category;
capability statement;
provide information for recent and relevant projects similar in nature;
Recommended alternative product Manufacturer and Part Number;
IFUs (Instructions for Use) for alternative recommended products;
Literature detailing the specification of any alternative recommended product;
DUNS number;
contract number if applicable;
brochure of equipment.
