MANAGEMENT AND OPERATION OF THE DURHAM AREA TRANSIT AUTHORITY
The City is issuing this Request for
Proposals to select a firm to manage and operate the Durham Area Transit Authority (hereinafter DATA) fixed route transit service under the terms of a
transit management contract. This RFP is issued along with a companion RFP to select a
firm to manage and operate the DATA demand responsive transit service under the terms
of transit contracting contract. Firms may submit a proposal in response to this RFP
and/or the stated companion RFP. The City may therefore enter into two contracts with
one firm for both services. However, if in the sole and exclusive discretion of the City, it
is determined that it is more advantageous to the City to enter into two separate contracts;
one with one firm for the fixed route service and one with a second firm for the demand
responsive service, then the City will do so and all firms submitting proposals in response
to this RFP and the companion RFP shall be required to enter into the contract for the one
service selected by the City.
