The Marine Corps Recruiting Command (MCRC) located at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia has a requirement to provide ballistic protection capability for the work spaces inside MCRC recruiting offices located throughout the United States and its territories, which will include delivery of ready-to-install/ready-for-use product to the specified Government sites. The new requirement would be for bullet resistant glazing that would be an installed above existing cubicle workstations. The ideal product would allow for easy installation and potentially retrofitting the existing panel frame to add stability. The Government is requesting information from expert vendors to understand more about the weight of the material for UL Level 3, UL Level 5 and UL Level 8. For each level of ballistic protection, the Government seeks two height options of ballistic resistant glazing of 12 inches and 18 inches to be affixed to the top of the current panels.

The existing cubicle workstations are 48" tall, approx. 2 1/2" - 2 3/4" thick, made of UL level 8 bullet-resisting fiberglass, and framed by 1/8" - 1/4" thick extruded aluminum. This requirement entails bullet resistant glazing for approximately 2,000+ workstations with one of the following types of panels.
