Locomotive Repower Project
The City is inviting responses from qualified suppliers to provide equipment and personnel to repower three GP20 locomotives with certified EPA or California Air Resources Board (CARB) Tier II compliant or better engines. Effective horsepower of the completed repower must be more than 1800; as long as tractive effort is greater than original locomotives. Replacement of original locomotives with equivalent type of repower is permitted.
