General. This is a SOURCES SOUGHT and is for informational/market research purposes only. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL, QUOTATION OR BID, NOR A SYNOPSIS OF A PROPOSED CONTRACT ACTION UNDER FAR SUBPART 5.2

Contract Information. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, is seeking Businesses that can provide the following: Drill concrete and place flowable waterstop compound into cored holes at Lock and Dam 13 on the Mississippi River located near Fulton, IL. The proposed contract will be a Firm Fixed Price Contract. Responses to this Sources Sought announcement will be used by the Government to make an appropriate acquisition strategy decision.


Minimum Technically Acceptable Contractor Expertise Criteria:


Contractor will be required to have expertise with concrete coring and placement of grouts and compound materials. Demonstrated experience on previous projects where accurate drilling/coring/grouting capabilities up to 35 feet in depth. Also demonstrate capabilities to perform work within limited space and the ability to mobilize necessary equipment to intermediate lock wall.

Note: The Government may consider the relevant past experience and past performance of key individuals and predecessor companies in evaluating the company's past experience and past performance factors.

Project Description: This contract is to assist the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District (USACE) to repair monolith joints on the intermediate lock wall at Lock and Dam 13. Existing monolith joints experienced significant leakage during previous lock dewatering, especially through the joints of the filling and emptying culvert embedded within the base of intermediate lock wall. The project consists of vertical coring down through the center of concrete monolith joints from the top surface and backfilling with a flowable waterproof compound. Work shall not interrupt navigation operations. The work involved requires sufficient resources and expertise and the ability to sequence construction activities with navigation. The use of a floating marine plant and drill rig may or may not be necessary for the work required.


Submission Instructions: Responses to this Sources Sought notice must be submitted electronically (via email) SUBJECT: W912EK-17-X-MONO, LD13 Monolith Repairs. Please send to Contract Specialist, Liz Dennison, at elizabeth.a.dennison@usace.army.mil no later than 12:00 pm Central Time, 27 January 2017. All responses must be received by the specified time and due date to be considered. All successfully submitted responses will receive an acknowledgement by return email.


Firm's response to this Sources Sought shall be limited to ten (10) pages and shall include the following information:


• Firm's name, address, point of contact, phone number, e-mail address, CAGE and DUNS number


This sources sought announcement is open for responses from all business sizes. The Government is seeking to identify qualified sources either singularly or as part of an assembled team under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 237990, Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction. Offeror's type of business and business size (whether large business, small business, HUBZone, Service Disabled Veteran Owned, 8(a)).


• Offeror's joint venture information, if applicable, existing and potential.


• Provide relevant information on the Firm's experience/Capabilities as it pertains to the proposed work outlined in the Project Description.


• Provide a maximum of two examples of projects similar in size, scope and complexity with a brief description of each project, customer name, timeliness of performance, contract number, customer satisfaction and the dollar value.


The Government may verify information in CPARS or PPIRS.
