Local Exchange Carrier Services for NAS Corpus Christi/Kingsville Texas
NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Norfolk, 700 Robbins Avenue Philadelphia, PA 19111 intends to acquire services on behalf of the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Atlantic (NCTAMS LANT) Base Communication Office (BCO) Corpus Christi TX/Kingsville TX for local exchange access, carrier commercial network service, path/interface to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) to support simultaneous access, transmission and switching of voice, data and image services at Naval Air Station (NAS) Corpus Christi TX and Naval Air Station (NAS) Kingsville TX.
This procurement is being conducted as a commercial item acquisition in accordance with FAR subpart 13.5 and FAR Part 12. Furthermore, this procurement is being processed through other than full and open competition pursuant to the statutory authority of 41 U.S.C.
1901, Simplified acquisition procedures b a sole source acquisition using simplified action procedures for the acquisition of commercial items, as implemented by FAR 13.501(a).
The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with BellSouth Telecommunications Inc, DBA AT and T for this requirement. AT and T/Southwestern Bell Telephone Company is the incumbent local exchange carrier (ILEC) where the telecommunication and support services are to be provided. The award of a firm-fixed price contract is anticipated.
Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotes. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes.
A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
