Within the context of the marketing strategy noted above, the first marketing priority is the
renewal of the existing Local Boards Network website, last updated between 2002-2004. It is
for this purpose this Request for Proposal is being issued.
The marketing and communications objectives in the redesign of the www.localboards.on.ca
website are to:
a) Present a renewed website that reflects current website design features and
functionality;
b) Provide visitors to the site a more user-friendly and comprehensive "lens" as to what
Local Board areas offer and how they benefit the development of local labour markets -
including key messages that highlight the unique benefits that are valued by the target
markets AND profile the distinguishing factors of Local Board area neutrality and
community networks that define these unique organizations;
c) Promote access to a broad range of workforce and labour market products/resources
produced by Local Board areas and posted on the Partnership Database for ease of
reference and download;
d) Position Local Board areas as credible and creative partners in contributing to Ontario's
overall competitive and productive labour market - community by community;
e) Ensure that website splash pages are in bilingual format, including display of the
bilingual hotline number for general bilingual inquiries.
The target markets of the enhanced Local Board provincial website are:
Broader provincial organizations and associations (e.g. Chambers of Commerce, Rural
and/or Economic Development associations such as EDCO/TORC)
Government officials working in labour market and workforce development at all levels
(municipal, provincial, federal)
