Library Renovation
Mandatory pre-bid meeting 05/13/2010.
Scope
1. Demo existing carpet from construction area.
2. Clean up all debris from construction area.
3. Saw out foundations for mezzanine floor columns as shown. Foundations shall be 30x30x12 and shall be recessed 8 below the finished slab surface to the top of the footing.
4. Set reinforcing steel an anchor bolts and pour footings.
5. Install steel columns and connecting beams as shown on S-1 and 2.
6. Install metal stud and drywall adjacent to the removable partition on the right hand side of the room. Partition may be removed at the option of the owner. Include removal and two sides of 5/8x sheetrock for this wall. This new wall shall be finished, primed and painted prior to installation of the steel support system for the mezzanine.
7. Install metal deck, stairwell and elevator shaft. Pour finished floor on mezzanine. 2 prime mix 3000# concrete.
8. Paint all steel framing per color instruction of the owner. This includes metal deck underside and all railings.
9. Install tempered glass clamps and tempered glass infill panels along entire second floor railings and stairway railings.
10. Install lighting, electrical and data wiring. Extend all data wiring to data room approximately 100 down the rear corridor from the workspace.
11. Install new carpet on stairs, mezzanine and first floor. Carpet allowance shall be $25.00/yd.
12. Install aluminum storefront system for office and study rooms with required glass. The installer shall adjust the dimensions of the system to work with the steel support columns and the columns shall be wrapped with the same material and the storefront for continuity of color in the space.
13. The glass shall be light bronze tinted glass, safety or tempered per compliance.
14. All doors in the storefront shall be the same material and color as the storefront and shall have cylinder locks with thumb latch on inner panel of lock.
15. Construct and install circulation desk as shown on drawings. The room under the stairs shall be enclosed using metal studs and drywall with door as shown. The room shall extend only to the edge of the stair landing. The stairs shall be open a shown for the first 7 risers with tempered glass closure panels.
16. Furnish and install a Thyssen/Krupp 2000# capacity hydraulic elevator in the space shown. Include all controls, power, telephone line and accessories for the elevator. The elevator shall be wood-grain plastic laminate inside with stainless steel doors and trim.
17. The contractor shall install a 400A 208Y120V service from the exiting service area to the new library space as shown on the electrical drawing. All circuitry for this project shall be extended to these service areas.
18. The fire alarm security and surveillance system shall be extended to this area. Exit and emergency lighting shall be as shown on the electrical drawings.
19. All data and telephone cables shall be category 6e cables and shall be supported per recommendation of the cable supplier.
20. Cameras for surveillance shall be compatible with the existing system. A monitor set shall be located at the circulation desk and the office.
21. The contractor shall install a Thermastor UA-150-H dehumidifier with power and condensate drain in the ceiling space of the area. This shall be connected to a large supply duct of the existing air conditioning to run when the humidistat calls for dehumidification. Controls shall be installed to add this unit to the exiting controls.
22. The contractor shall install three 52 Casablanca ceiling fans to stir the air in the space. Controls shall be located at the circulation desk.
